Pelvic Health Physical Therapy

Pelvic physical therapy is the treatment for both female and male patents who are experiencing problems with their pelvic floor function. The pelvic floor encompass’s muscle groups that support reproductive, bladder, and bowel function, as well as regulating intr-abdominal pressure.

Treatment of these systems involve rehab of varying degrees for the muscles of the pelvis, abdominal wall, as well as postural muscles. Common populations who benefit most are people who are peri-menopausal, menopausal, recovering from abdominal surgery, pregnant, and or postpartum patients.

Some of the symptoms people will experience are incontinence while running/ jumping/ exercising/sneezing, people with pelvic pain, or pain with sex, people who have been diagnosed with endometriosis, testicular cancer or any other GI or pelvic related cancers and other surgeries that impact the abdomen, pelvic, lumbar spina, and genitals.

Orthopedic Physical Therapy

Detailed evaluation will be performed to find the “why” of your pain. Dr. Nina Lex will help to put the fire out and then give you tools to help manage your symptoms. Dr. Nina will use movement, manual therapy, and or functional dry needling as well as myofascial decompression to help you have decreased pain and improved function.

About Dr. Nina Lex PT, DPT, CSCS, PCES

Nina grew up in Carbondale, Colorado. Her parents shared their love of snow, water sports, and “life in the mountains” with her, which is what drew Nina to the Jackson area. After obtaining a degree in Exercise Sport Science at The University of Utah, she moved to Jackson and worked for the Jackson Hole ski and Snowboard Club as the Head Coach of the Junior Nordic program. She coached snowboarding, taught yoga, worked as a personal trainer and was a CrossFit Coach at CrossFit Jackson Hole. She returned to the classroom completing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Pacific University. Nina specializes in pelvic health with an emphasis on pregnancy, postpartum, and breastfeeding conditions as well as correcting form and working with fitness athletes to return to lifting and returning to running. She loves to use her background in weightlifting and coaching to help build her patients confidence and strength; both mentally and physically. Her genuine passions outside of the clinic are playing with her son and husband in the outdoors, gardening and or running while listening to Ologies with Allie Ward.
